As far as she was concerned, she was going to kill this random kid she ran into in the woods–because that’s just how hardcore she is.īulma terrifies the Z-Fighters even as a hero and without even really trying to–and as a villain, she nearly orchestrated the ultimate demise of Goku, which would have doomed the entire universe. Bulma didn’t know Goku was a Saiyan when she shot him in the head. Aside from the fact that she fell in love with Vegeta when he was still a murderous villain, Bulma literally proved she was capable of murdering a child upon her debut. Plus, it isn’t like fans haven’t seen a dark streak in Bulma before. In Dragon Ball Super, Bulma is able to replicate the work of her future self and create a time machine more than a decade earlier than it should have existed, despite the fact that a number of materials she needed didn’t even exist yet–she just invented them real quick and continued on with her work until the time machine was built. When Bulma commits herself to something, she finds a way to make it happen, even if it seems impossible. Bulma even thought of things Baby never considered–like the Blutz Wave Generator–which confirmed that her intelligence and ruthlessness actually surpassed Baby’s. This means that all of Bulma’s genius was hyper-fixated on making Baby more powerful and making his entire empire run as efficiently as possible. Basically, Baby has the entire world under his control, so every action they take is specifically geared towards benefiting him and his evil plan to conquer the universe. Baby has possessed the body of Vegeta (creating the immensely powerful fusion, Baby-Vegeta) after ‘laying eggs’ inside the minds of everyone on Earth, effectively making them a part of his hive-mind. In Dragon Ball GT episode 37 (written by Toshinobu Ooi, directed by Osamu Kasai, produced by Toei Animation), fans see the culmination of Bulma’s descent into villainy following her corruption by the hand of GT’s villainous Machine Mutant, Baby. So far, Bulma has decided to use her intelligence for the good of mankind, but one storyline in GT explores what would happen if she was a bit more sinister. Not only does she invent a way to shrink herself down to the size of a mouse and make spaceships capable of interstellar travel, but Bulma eventually invents a time machine, which is used to save the Dragon Ball universe. As the series progressed, her courage and brilliance only shines more brightly. Not only that, but Bulma was not afraid to get her hands dirty when faced with a potential threat as shown during her first interaction with Goku when Bulma shot him in the head. It is no secret to long-time fans of Dragon Ball that the true powerhouse of the series isn’t Goku or Vegeta, it’s Bulma–meaning she has the potential to be the scariest supervillain of the series (and Dragon Ball GTactually proves this to be true).īulma was introduced in Dragon Ball chapter 1 as a tenacious girl who immediately proved herself to be tough, courageous, and intelligent as she was traveling the globe looking for the wish-granting Dragon Balls with a device that she invented specifically to find them.
